Summer in the City

I spent a great deal of time at Coney Island in the summers of 2010-2014. 

 

It brought back memories of my own childhood on another boardwalk, now long gone but not all that different, over in Far Rockaway.

 

Not much has changed over the years. Coney Island still offers a wonderful busman's holiday, a forty minute subway ride from midtown.

 

Walking the streets and lanes of Coney Island in the evening, I often sense the old ghosts in the shadows, and my goal here is to bring out some of that long ago sense of nostalgia.
